COVID-19 VACCINATION
The Clinic Bulleen NO LONGER offers COVID-19 booster vaccinations. Booster vaccinations will need to be sourced from other participating GP's, pharmacies, or a Govt vaccination hub, which can be found at the Govt website:

https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/book-your-vaccine-appointment#book-at-a-high-volume-vaccination-centre

Please telephone the clinic first if you have respiratory symptoms and are seeking an appointment. Performing a COVID-19 test prior to a face to face appointment is requested to ensure the safety of other patients in the waiting room and the practice staff and doctors. Respiratory symptoms may include fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, or loss of sense of smell or taste.

PNEUMONIA VACCINATION RECOMMENDATIONS
Adult pneumonia vaccination recommendations were updated in mid 2020. changed. A single Govt funded vaccination using 13vPCV pneumonia vaccination (Prevenar-13) is now offered to following groups of people:
  • adults aged 70+ regardless of whether they previously received 23vPPV (Pneumovax 23)
  • people > 12 months of age with risk conditions for invasive pneumococcal disease are advised to receive 13vPCV followed by additional doses of 23vPPV
  • all indigenous adults aged 50+
The changes can sound confusing and it is best to speak to you doctor to ensure safe administration of the new vaccination occurs (where recommended).
